Everyone loves a love story.
Meet Angie and Tivo. Their love story began when they saw each other’s profiles on an online dating site. Each of them had included a very important detail about themselves in their profile - they loved thrifting and Goodwill! That information led to a swipe right which became a match made in Goodwill heaven, and the rest is history.
Their love of thrifting was a big part of Angie and Tivo’s dating life. Their “Goodwill dates” had them searching for “necessities” in the early days, but through their treasure hunting adventures they’ve added to the ever growing collections that fill their eclectic home. Their home is filled with all things vintage and collectible - sports memorabilia including Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres items, vintage clothing, antique jewelry, vintage electronic equipment, comic collectibles, Buffalo themed memorabilia and so much more. The couple and their unique home were featured in a March 2022 Buffalo Spree article.
After being together for ten wonderful thrift-filled years, Angie and Tivo decided to make it official and have an Elvis-style wedding in Las Vegas on their tenth anniversary.
When Angie walked into the North Buffalo Goodwill store and saw a “beautiful flawless” wedding gown displayed on a hanger from a local boutique she knew that the thrift gods were smiling down on her. She just had to say yes to the dress. It was perfect for her and just $29.99, far from its retail value of $1800! Angie's unique bridal bouquet was created with vintage jewelry finds to complete her look and become a lasting memory of a very special day.
Of course, Tivo also had to have “something Goodwill” in his wedding day outfit. He exchanged vows with Angie in a vintage pair of sunglasses he had found at the Cheektowaga Goodwill store for $1.99.
On July 9, 2022 Angie and Tivo exchanged wedding vows at the Vegas wedding chapel. The very first line of the couple's vows was “You had me at Goodwill”. Cue the happy tears.
In true Goodwill style, after the wedding Angie donated her wedding gown to Goodwill Las Vegas to both give back and “pass on the great vibes”.
And Angie and Tivo lived happily ever after.
The End
