We're on the move! Construction is almost complete at Goodwill's new retail store and donation center in Clarence. The 8,962 square-foot space in the Clarence Mall at 8050 Main Street, next to Office Depot, will replace the current store in the Transitown Plaza at 4311 Transit Road and nearly doubles the space of the current store. The Benchmark Group is developing the new store. An additional 7-10 retail and donated goods processing positions will be added to the current workforce.
The new retail store will feature the concept and layout that Goodwill has used in its recent store remodels including signage and displays that represent the Goodwill brand and mission. Shopper reaction has been positive to the new design. In addition to the retail space, the new location will feature a drive up covered donation center conveniently located at the rear of the building. One of the goals of the new design is to encourage donors to come inside the retail space to find new treasures.
“We’re really excited to open this brand new store and donation center in the Clarence/Williamsville area,” said Eric Schwarz, Goodwill’s Vice President of Retail & Donated Goods. “We feel we’ve created a shopping and donation experience that is welcoming to everyone and also conveys the Goodwill mission. When you donate to Goodwill and shop at our stores, you’re helping people train for, find and keep jobs in Western New York.”
The grand opening of the new Clarence location is slated for early August.
